The 2 geeks are awful stereotypes, one taking unlikeability to a whole new level and the other one just bland, bland, bland. The "hot bot" isn't, not even lukewarm.
If you're thinking Kelly le Brock in weird science then stop now, she's nowhere close. The script is awful too.
It's just a really bad movie. Some talented comedians are in this, but don't let that fool you. It's not funny, sexy, or interesting. I watched the first 11 minutes and 34 seconds on Netflix, then flipped to the last 5 to see how it ended and couldn't make it; it was just too painful to watch.
The writer and director should be drummed out of the industry and be sentenced to watch this film in its entirety every day for the rest of their lives.
Apparently this review needs 10 lines to be publishable. I find it ironic that the standards required for me to warn you how awful this, this whatever it is visual sadness?
I am a very forgiving reviewer--I can usually find something to like about a film. In this case the only reason it gets 3 points at all is due to the premise, but as far as the plot, the characters, the dialogue--and as another reviewer puts it, the execution, it is a genuine stinker.
None of the characters are likable, not even the robot or the kids. I have no issue at all about sexbots, nor do I have a problem with evolving AI--especially as they are likely a near reality, but the WAY in which this story was told was just terrible!
As is often the case, the kids are too precocious, but even given that, they simply aren't believable--in their actions, their dialogue or their acting.
I mean usually, the writers at least make the main kids likable or endearing in some way. In this movie, the one "nice" lead, is just too, too much to be believable, and the whole religious spiel in the middle of the film as a plot device?
To be fair, I can't decide if it's the acting that is off, or the directing--as if that ultimately matters in a film this bad I can forgive either one if other elements make up for it but the dialoge and development sure don't help.
All of the other characters are pure and poorly done stereotypical caricature. The entire thing reads as a throwaway script in some slush pile.
Now it's obvious that this film is aimed at young pubescent boys, but I doubt even that demographic would enjoy this film. There isn't enough substance--or visual candy in here to be even mildly titillating.
This movie offers absolutely nothing to the audience. My recommendation is to just pass this one by--pubescent boy or not-- cause if you ARE a pubescent boy you will be sorely disappointed.
I'm going to start off by saying if you are watching this "comedy" for sex scenes, you will be sorely disappointed because no one gets laid. I will say I did enjoy the first thirty or so minutes of this film, solely to Mystery Science it.
The film has numerous plot holes and problems, that I will detail below. For one, the annoying fat kid is clearly a discount Seth from Superbad, but not funny or likeable.
The other one, I couldn't even tell you about because he has the personality of a desk lamp. I'm not even sure if he spoke the entire movie because he is that forgettable.
Secondly, a lot of the plot didn't make sense or was just stupid. I may have misunderstood this, but did the sex shop owner say the thing ran on Wi-Fi?
Are you meaning to tell me that a k sex robot has micro transactions? Who so going to shell out that kind of money just to be charged more to use the damn thing.
Speaking of the price, I swear at the beginning they said it cost k but then later the FBI who were involved for some reason said it cost a little under k.
Also, at the end this robot just boards a flight with no issues well the FBI gets cavity searched. Are you telling me two FBI agents can't get through TSA un-scathed but sex robot somehow walked through a metal detector and boarded a plane no problem?
I also thought it was worth mentioning there was an odd and uncomfortable scene where the senator breaks into the boring ones house, talks about his old masterbation habits and then molests the guy for no obvious reason.

Go re-watch "Weird Science", "Superbad" and "E. Oh, did I mention it? Instead it lands in the hands of two dorky teens Zack Pearlman, Doug Haley who try to hold on to her as a dysfunctional FBI comes after them.
There was a lot less sex and nudity that one would expect from the title and DVD cover. One can't help but make comparisons to "Weird Science" an 80's PG classic "teen sex comedy.
We know how these films always end. I felt uncomfortable while the teens sat there and swore at their parents, calling them stupid while using profanity.
While I don't mind profanity, especially when the Bot used it, their using it in this scene sucked the humor from it. This may have a lot of teen appeal.
You might want to consider watching "Weird Science" again if you're over Guide: Plenty of swearing, some implied sex, brief Cynthia Kirchner or body double nudity.
Chasty Ballesteros provides early hot Asian tease nudity. Why does every teen movie have characters that are totally unlovable.
I went into this movie thinking it would at least have some hot women and all I get is Larry Miller's backside!!!!
Every joke didn't work, every character was a jerk. Even the blooper reel at the end was unfunny. Stay away from this movie. It was unwatchable.

I loved the idea, absolutely hated the execution. I'd rather watch Cherry or the Futurama episode with the Lucy Liu-bot again. The idea of sexbots has been around since Metropolis or Dr.

I saw this movie on Netflix last night. It's really not that bad as long as you're in the mood for it and aren't expecting too much.

His scenes are all great. Donald Faison and Angela Kinsey all have great scenes are really funny. The Music in this movie is really good and kept the film moving.
Doesn't have the same acting chops as Jonah Hill from Superbad, which I'm sure he was trying to emulate here. The story was really kind of cheesy, we've seen this before with Weird Science.
